The existing mid–century modern brick building of the Lydia Patterson Campus is located in the Segundo Barrio in Downton El Paso. The modernization of the high school consists of five phases, part of which is the renovation of the existing gymnasium and locker rooms and a conversion of the existing chapel into a library and science and computer labs.
The 30,000 SF new construction phase would include a new chapel design to accommodate 500 occupants, a kitchen and dining area, a two-story atrium, conference room, sacristy, dressing rooms, art room, classrooms and other accessory spaces. The new classroom/chapel addition will be connected on two levels to the existing classroom building with a new pedestrian bridge and will connect directly to the existing gymnasium at two levels.
