Texas Tech University, HEALTH & SCIENCES CENTER - MSB II
The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center of El Paso is a five-story, 185,550 SF facility that In*Situ collaborated with Perkins and Will, who served as the Architect of Record. Not only In*Situ collaborated on the design process throughout the project but also served as the local lead during construction. Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso (TTU HSC EP) is comprised of the Paul L. School of Medicine, the Gayle Greve Hunt School of Nursing, the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, and a new Dental School.
The Medical Sciences Building II serves as a hub for the existing campus, creating a common space for the Health Sciences Center that is not dedicated to anyone school but to the whole campus. The building program includes an auditorium, class-laboratories, collaborative teaching spaces, offices for the President, research administration, laboratory office space, a dining hall, with a program addition of the Dental Learning Center. Ground-breaking was in June 2016, following an integrated project delivery process with SUNDT Construction, which allowed the design team to work through Design Development into March 2017. The substantial completion was completed in August 2020. |
